Is Shanks strongest than Mihawk ?

The single most debated character in one piece in term of his true strength is Mihawk. He has no impressive feats against any other strong characters and the only thing we really have to go off is his title as the world strongest swordsman as well as the facts that he is Zoro's end goal. Now for a long time everything from Mihawk hinged around shanks was shanks true swordsman? what does it even mean to be a true swordsman? Is shanks a quote- unquote Haki man and also all sorts of other vague arguments with mihawk fan basically arguing that however strong shanks is mihawk must be stronger than him due to his title but if that debate wasn't contentious enough now thing just got a lot complicated with the reveal that The swordsman of gorasei nusjuro is definitely  a strong fighter and a clear end game opponent and the leader of the gods knights saint figarland is also a sword man and guess what like it or not it is no longer as cut and dry as to wheather or not mihawk is the strongest swordsman alive. anyone who has followed the series knows that title alone are not the end-all-be-all whitebeard was certainly not the world's strongest man when he had the title and kaido was certainly not the strongest creature when he had the title and now that all these powerful swordsman are emerging in the final saga. It is time to taken an objective look at evidence outside the title as to whether or not it makes sense that mihawk is the actually strongest swordsman in the world or even zoro's final opponent. 

Now as we know that Mihawk has the strongest swordsman title therefore he must be the strongest is not a good argument at least not on it's own that is because it has been made extremely clear that the title are often in accurate because  

The both time we have had character who have held the title of strongest in a way whitebeard known as the strongest man and Kaido is known as King of the beasts were both proven as false. If you that just because Mihawk has the stringest title of world's strongest swordsman then that means he is the strongest swordsman then you bascially have not taken any attention to the story at all up till now.
The title mean one thing and one thing only that the Mihawk has the reputation of being the world's strongest swordsman that it's.

It all begins with the age old debated of mihawk vs shanks. but before the question like shanks whether or not has haki abilities that he will use outside of swordsman ship. The battle is basic on pure swordsman ship meaning shanks sword and abilities vs mihawk with his.

So Mihawk vs Shanks, it is a long time debated but that it is conform that Mihawk and Shanks do duel in the past for long time. Character like Whitebeard are even interest on it. Now that the Mihawk hold the title of the world's strongest swordsman where as Shanks does not and the world recognizes Mihawk as being superior with the sword is pretty big because now it indicates that Mihawk's title is actually based on something. It's not like kaido who was just sitting in wano for two years being called the world's strongest creature for no reason without kaido actually fighting or proving anything against the other contenders like Shanks, IMU, Blackbeard , Monkey D. Dragon, Big Mom etc. Mihawk did actually duel against Shanks and other top tier swordsman in One Piece. Theirs Duels are famous and World known and the title of the strongest swordsman in the World whereas Shanks does not. Meaning that the duel between them be a draw but Mihawk said to settle thing after shanks lost his arm he by default takes the title of the world's strongest swordsman. It is not between Shanks vs Mihawk actually it is Mihawk Vs Zoro. The strongest title is made because of zoro. Noone other than zoro want to become the strongest swordsman in the world.
